Bajirao Mastani: A movie review

Bajirao Mastani the movie which is based on the life of Great Peshwa Bajirao Ballal and his second wife Mastani, the movie is not very interesting for average Indian viewer, the movies theme was taken  from a Marathi novel called 'Rau', people may find the pace of the film very slow, the films main attraction is its sets and cinematography, as like the other Bhansali movies, this movie is also made in very grand scale, the movie contained many things of the life of Bajirao I one of the greatest generals of Maratha empire and in whole Indian history, a man who fought forty battles and never loose one( you can check it in wikipedia and other sources also) he died at the age of 40, took the office of Peshwa at a very early age of 20 and lead his troops to victory one after another. In the movie the tussle between the superstitious and orthodox Hindu society against a Muslim wife of the most powerful man of the empire shown perfectly, how orthodox Hindus forced Bajirao I not to admit a Muslim women as his wife but against everyone's wish he married to Mastani,( Mastani herself a daughter of King of Orcha from his Muslim wife)so she is also had Rajput Hindu blood in her but still our orthodox Hindu customs not accepted her, Bajirao had a first wife kashiBai from her he had two sons still he fell in love with another girl, and now the most powerful man of his time and the whole Maratha Empire had to face the wrath of his own society even his own Mother and brother stood against him and planning to murder Mastani, Bajirao by all means a very respected man but he was always face  humiliations when ever he want to do something for his second wife Mastani, juat because he married a Muslim women and he also admit her and give her proper respect of his wife .His Mothers relationship with his first wife is very good but with Mastani her relationship is very callous, she try to insult Mastani in every possible manner, she called her a dancing girl and a whore send by the Rajputs, Mastani offended by this but she loves Bajirao I from her heart and took all the humiliation by grace she don't attacked on her in laws, and her husbands first wife, instead of she always respected kashibai as her elder sister. The film is very dramatic and little bit slow, the action scenes are good not as over the top as generally modern films are.
Actually I want to write an article on Bajirao I before the films release but I am not able to do that, this is my fault, now as per the film if you want to see a just Masala bollywood film then this film is not for you if you want to see a film which is based on the life of a Hero then go and watch the film because this film not fully satisfy's you still it is not as bad as the general Hindi films made on the life of great historical characters like Ashoka the great by Sharukh Khan , and the Modern serial on emperor Ashoka 'Chakravatin Samrat Ashok' aired on Colors where you find every thing out of place and every thing beyond logic, Bajirao Mastani is based on a novel called 'Rau' and in disclaimer they claimed this film is not claimed to be historically perfect but we try to maintain the records as near as possible so if you like a love story with historical substance in a slow pace than definitely go and watch the movie.
